On September 21st the NGCA Lady Knights traveled to Morganton to play a region matchup against rival Mountain Area Christian Academy. In the first game, the middle school teams played. NGCA won the first set 25-8. MACA won the second game 25-12. In the deciding matchup, NGCA played a great game all around and won 15-5. In the second matchup of the night the JV teams faced off. In the first game, MACA hung around all game, but NGCA was too strong and won 25-22. In the second game, NGCA dominated throughout and won 25-7. The final matchup of the night saw the varsity teams play. In the first game, NGCA dominated and won 25-13. For game two, MACA responded enroute to a 25-17 win. In game three, MACA put together another strong showing and won 25-14. In game four, both teams never gave up and it took several saves, hits, and dives to determine a winner. With the match on the line, NGCA managed to pull through 30-28. In the deciding fifth game, NGCA continued to play strong and ultimately won the match. 15-12. This was a great region win for the Lady Knights.
