On September 7th, the NGCA Lady Knights traveled to Adairsville to play a region matchup against Philadelphia. The JV teams played against each other first. In both sets it was a back-and-forth match throughout, with Philadelphia winning 25-22 and 25-20. The varsity teams then competed. In the first set, Philadelphia won 25-22. NGCA responded in the second set by winning 25-16. In the third set NGCA fell 25-20. In the fourth set, NGCA had a fierce comeback to stay alive for the fifth game, 25-21. In the deciding set, Philadelphia was able to come back and secure the win 15-9. This matchup saw several aces and kills by the Lady Knights but ultimately Philadelphia prevailed.
On September 8th, the NGCA Lady Knights played a non-region home matchup against Victory Christian. The middle school teams played first. NGCA played strong throughout, but Victory proved to be to strong at the end and won both sets 25-9 and 25-11. The varsity teams then battled it out. NGCA was able to keep up with a strong Victory squad in three straight games but could not pull through and lost 25-18,25-18 and 25-20. NGCA made several saves throughout the games and played with tremendous effort and determination. In the end though, Victory prevailed. The Lady Knights will be hosting their annual NGCA Invitational Tournament on September 15th and 16th at the Victory Christian Center.
