October 21, 2023, Braselton, Georgia. The Knight Mountain Bike team traveled to Road Atlanta to the private Fox Factory Trails for the Georgia Cycling Association Eastern Conference Series Championship. The previous day’s rain made for muddy conditions but Knights, 7th grader Lucy Nell Alonso and Sophomore Lazarus Alonso were ready for the challenge.
First up the duo competed in the USA Cycling Skills Competition, Lazarus put in a very impressive performance in the male division with his final pass of 32 seconds with no faults just shy of the days victory. Lucy Nell stole the show by earning her fourth win of the season in the female division.
The cross-country race was face and furious, Lucy Nell pulled off an 11th place finish in the 7th grade girls division. While Sophomore, Lazarus Alonso pulled across the finished line in 58th place among the 80 other competitors in the JV-2 Boys Division.
