It was a great week to be a Knight!!! The NGCA Athletic Department hosted the 4th annual Knights Court Classic Basketball Tournament. Thirty teams from eleven different schools gathered together for a week full of fellowship and basketball.
All of the teams from NGCA had a very successful week on the court. The middle school Lady Knights had a 4-0 record in the tournament and captured the tournament championship. Maryjane Mazursky was named to the all-tournament team and Julianne Walker was named Most Valuable Player for the middle school girls.
The middle school Knights also went undefeated in the tournament and went on to win the tournament championship. Zed Blackwell was named to the All-Tournament team and Luke Beaver was selected as the tournament Most Valuable Player.
The Junior Varsity Boys from NGCA also had a very strong showing in the tournament and went on to win the tournament championship. Hemi Holt and Jonas Proffitt were named to the All-Tournament team for the Knights and Luke Beaver was selected as Most Valuable Player.
The Varsity Lady Knights also had a strong tournament and finished the week by winning the championship. Emmy Beaver was selected to the All-Tournament team and Payton Beaver was awarded Most Valuable Player.
The Varsity Knights won their pool and advanced to the tournament finals. In what would prove to be a hard-fought game the Knights came up a little short in the end. Sawyer Wishon was named to the All-Tournament Team for the NGCA Knights.
Congratulations to all the teams for having such a successful preseason tournament. A very special thank you to all the parent volunteers for helping make the tournament a success. It was a great week for Knight Nation.
