2nd Annual Gala & Auction
On April 10th, 2008, North Georgia Christian Academy hosted our 2nd annual Gala event and auction at Appalachian Technical College. Guests began arriving at 6:00 to sample a delicious array of hord'oeuvres and view the many silent and live auction items available for bid. There was a wide variety of items for selection including gift certificates, theme baskets, furniture, signed memorabilia, and a Jeep! Lisa Lacey and Ellen Ottinger provided special music for our enjoyment.
At 6:45, Jeb Chatham gave a special welcome and invocation to begin the meal. The delicious gourmet meal was prepared and served by Proof of the Pudding, a catering service. After the meal, David Henson, emcee for the evening, introduced our board, staff, and special guest, Ben Utecht.
We were honored to have Ben Utecht at our Gala. A former Indianapolis Colt and Super Bowl winner, he is now playing tight end with the Cincinnati Bengals. Not only is he a talented athlete but also a singer! He is currently working on a CD that is to be released soon. While he has an impressive football career, the focus of his message was his personal testimony as a Christian. His heart and passion were clearly displayed through his message in speech and song. He has chosen to honor God on and off the field and we were blessed and encouraged by his message.
This was followed by a lively and entertaining live auction run by Ronnie Chester and Michael Carr, auctioneer with Michael E. Carr and Associates.
By the end of the evening, our guests returned home with full stomachs and lifted spirits. Many also left with wonderful gifts and auction items they purchased in support of our school. The entire evening was a testament of God's amazing love and blessings in our lives and the life of North Georgia Christian Academy.
