Cherokee Indian Life Video Click to view the awesome video!

NGCA 3rd and 4th grade experienced a day in the life of a Cherokee boy (brave) and girl (squaw) in a hands-on study Friday Nov. 4th.
Activities consisted of making head bands, feather dangles, symbol stories, grinding corn between a pedestal and mortise, and making knives using authentic arrowheads. Students ate fry cakes for snack and tried a variety of lunch items typical of the Cherokee diet. Items such as venison stew, succotash, roasted squash and potatoes, and many corn products were on the menu. Students participated in Native American games of spear throwing and foot races. The day concluded with a dance around the fire known as the Corn Celebration Dance. lead by the newly elected Chief. This dance signified the importance of corn in the life of the Cherokee and it’s life sustaining power.
The study also recognized that although the Cherokee Indians did not have the Bible translated in their language till 1825 they were led to an understanding of God thorough nature as talked about in Job 12: 7-10 and Psalms 19:1. In the word of one of the students, “It was the best field trip ever!”

We give God all the glory and praise!
A great big Thank You to our Awesome new PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) and all the volunteers that helped in so many ways to put together a Beautiful float.  Thank you to all the students and families that came and showed their support and for all the donations of candy and apples.
It was a great time of fellowship and opportunity to impact our community for God.
If you are not involved, you are missing out.

How exciting to have so many local pastors and youth ministers show up on Chapel Day! They were able to see first hand the impact that God is having on students at NGCA as they sang, performed skits, recited Bible verses and had a GREAT time! Please pray for them as they continue their ministry in our community.

Christian musician/songwriter Matt Papa performed at NGCA for students, faculty and friends. Matt is an AMAZING musician with a true passion for the Lord. It was a blast watching him interact with the kids and listening to songs from his new CD “This Changes Everything”

Local law enforcement, first responders and veterans are honored at NGCA for the anniversary of 9/11. As we remember a dark day in American history we are also grateful for these brave men and women who make it possible for us to freely open our great God.

Grandparents Day is always a FUN time at NGCA! It is truly one of the most blessed days of the year as we honor our wonderful grandparents and express our appreciation to them. This year there was a huge turnout and much appreciation goes out to the wonderful parent volunteers who helped make the event a success! Godly grandparents are a blessing to their grandchildren, families, community, and to NGCA!

Senator Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson visited NGCA in conjunction with a Tea Party town hall meeting which was held there on Saturday 8/20/11. The gym was packed and the exchange of ideas was impressive. NGCA is blessed to be able to hosts such events!
